DAY 0

The temporary command post on top of Hab Block Beta had an excellent view of the city. Or rather it usually did. On this day the city was shrouded in smoke and dozens of fires could be seen burning out of control across the sky line. Magus Kane, also know as the Witchfinder General, peered through a pair of combat goggles at the fighting around the PDF headquarters. He turned to his aide. "How many units have reported in?". The aide studied a com-tablet for a moment. "Approximately 2/3rds sir."

"Well it could be worse I suppose" he gestured towards the fighting "It looks like the regulars are heavily engaged at the PDF HQ". He turned back to the table that held a random assortment of maps, guns, ammo pouchs, and grenades. 'Well at least the 'Faithful' were prepared for this' he thought. Someone had organised a revolt on a grand scale and caught the garrison flat-footed. The damned silly thing was that he'd been engaged in the self same activity when these idiots, whoever they were, had beaten thim to the punch. All he needed was another 4 to 6 weeks and everything would have been in place. It really was very unfair. "Oh well it looks like it's up to us to save the city doesn't it." he said with a wry smile.

"Tell all units to rally here at the Hab Block Alpha" he paused. "If they can't get through the we'll relocate with the strength we have here and meet them at the secondary rally point at the Smeltery". A good sized proportion of 'The Faithfuls' strength came from the cities labourers and they had caches of supplies concealed at many points in the city, the Smeltery amongst them. "If the Smeltery is in enemy hands then they're to rally on Law Courts but that's only if things have really gone to hell" He paused and with a chuckle noted "If it does perhaps we can do the city a favour by hanging all the lawyers"

Yes it really looked like 'The Faithful' were going to have to save the city. He remembered something he had seen in an ancient and banned earth holo-entertainment "Yes tonight we shall be saving the world- so that it is available for us to take over tommorow night"
