TAU EMPIRE

I bought a Tau army back in 2003, from a local GW manager who had done that thing that GW staff seem to do, which is buy the newest thing and then get bored.

So back then i went through the army, pulled out what was useful and painted a couple units. i painted and based the stealth suits, a couple units of firewarriors and half painted the crisis suits.

I played a few games, got bored and put the army aside.

Fast forward and the Tau empire codex (which i worked on) gets released and has enough cool stuff to inspire me to start the army up again.

now its 2008 and i want to take the army to a couple tournaments this year. i fielded the army at Warpstorm 2007 where i used some of my models and some of a friends, and managed to get 5th, and i also took the army to Grendelcon in Adelaide which won.

as part of the change of the army, i have also rebased the army on to industrial bases from Rachels basing company. i desgined the bases and think they are really cool. i am theming the army on the defense of the water refinery on Taros, from Imperial Armour 3.

Shas'o and Crisis suits.

the boss has a cool shield generator with darkeldar blades on it, this is representing his shield generator and his st 5 4 attacks. All of these models were assembled and 90% painted about 5 years ago, so they are probably due for an update, esp as at least one of the is a repaint.

Stealth Suits

Very cool models, and i enjoyed painting them heaps, no reason to convert them at all.

and on the new bases

and the gun drones i field in the unit.

FIREWARRIORS

here is one of the units of firewarriors, these images are of the old bases, but they are all on new bases now.

BROADSIDES

While i own two hammerheads, for this years events i am going to field two Broadsides instead. i saw someone convert one into a sniper ages ago and thought i would replicate it. i decided to make the model crouching like the firewarrior crouching legs.i still need to the head, and the fiddly bits. its all currrently just blutacked together. i also need to mockup advanced stablisation system.

you can see the base he will be one, so he will be kneeling on the top level and braced against the lower level.

The left arm is going to be a bracing arm, and will have other bits on it, and possibly some cables. you can also see the shin guard on the left leg, which i am hoping will represent the 2+ save a bit.

The pilot is supposed to be holding the gun, and soi have lengthened the arm, and added an ammo clip.
