Inquisitor Warband

A month ago my local shop decided to have a Daemon hunters painting comp, so i used the event to motivate myself to paint up a warband and do as good a paint job as possible. Now my inquisitor is actually ordo xenos i just did not tell the GW boys. i painted him up with the plan of using him with my deathwatch killteam plus army. Since money is a bit tight i went through my bits box and used all the cool old figures i could find plus extra plastic bits.

While i did win it was a bit hollow as only one other person bothered to enter, despite heaps of the regualr shop limpets painting the coteaz box set in the exact same colour scheme for the two weeks before the deadline. i did get a squad of grey knights though.

Unfortunately i ran out of time so a few parts are rushed and will be fixed when get around to going over them again.

The whole group together. Rachel has a friend in the states who makes these fantastic bases so i asked him to make me one for the retinue. please note that i just noticed that the gun back pack on the middle guy is crooked, it should be parallel to his shoulder. i'll fix it and get more pics up later, its not glued on so must have slipped.

An aerial shot of the group.

Inquisitor Flash Flasheart

I bought the old warhammer quest noble about 8 years ago and finally found a reason to open his blister pack. i swapped his sword for mephistons and added an inquisition badge from the Inquisitor range and some chaing. the red is the same i used on my necron army, black red, highlighted up with vallejo red, then vermillion on top. the blue i can't remeber, but its a mix of GW and vallejo. the gold was done with 50/50 tin bitz/shining gold then highlighted with shining gold up to mithril silver. the sword is about 17 layers starting with storm blue mixed with dark angels green, then highlighted up with a light blue then white. then i went over it with a blue wash and added the lines to give a crystal effect.

Acolyte

I really like the mordheim vampire assassin chick, she is the only vampire that does not have big goofy teeth. The flesh was done with a variety of browns up to bone. The red was done the same way as the inquisitor, and the robes were a bone/white built up to white. The gun was from a very very old imperial gaurd sprue and the hand is an Elday gaurdian.

Combat servitor done up as a archoflaggellant. made from the legs of a mordheim flaggellant, the torso from the marauder box, ork arms, flails from the marauder box, the head is the metal burna head, and the wires are from a guitar. i am partuclarly happy with the leather lonicloth but not so much with the barcode, it was a bit rushed.

Warrior, equipped with either the bosses psycannon or just a swanky gun.as i said the gun is crooked but you get the jist. The leather on his cloak was a mix of cavalry brown and red, then highlighted with a light brown. the goggles are from a tau pair of binoculars. the backpack is a tau back pack with a bitfrom the tau crisis suit accessories, a splinter cannon and other random plastic bits. the bone on the sword was a bit rushed in the hour before i had to enter the squad so i will probably redo it.

Sage, done as a logic servitor. based on an old thrall, he has a necron destroyer spine, his rght arm is frm a marauder, and his hand is part bfg turret and auspex.

Heirophant, my favourite of the bunch. His cloak is painted the same as the warrior and the gold the same as the inquisitor. he has the back banner from the arch redemptionis on his back, with two eagles from the rhino in the top and skulls on the sides. the skulls had a rim sculpted on and it was hollowed out so i could add some gravel for coals. the book on his coat is from the mordheim accessories and the symbol on his belt from the inquisitor range.
