For some reason after 2000, i was a little bored with the Doomfarers so in a fit of excitement decided to finish a chaos army i had been playing with for years, some of the models had come and gone or been pillage repeatedly (i had 16 plastic berserkers, i have no idea what i did int eh army at one point) for parts. just before the nations i decided to finish off the army, i bought nothing, i either already had the parts or scrounged the bits from GW (where i was workign at the time as a casual). i 'think' i would have taken my marines but was a) a bit bored, and b) could not afford the money to buy the models to boost it to 2000pts.

i only used it at one v3 tournament the 2001 NZ nationals, and i got 5th,

I won a bunch of games but (rightly) got slaughtered on painting.its got some nice conversions, but overall is a fairly hodgepodge, and kinda ugly army. but it was my second attempt at proper highlight, influenced by my wife.

if i remember rightly i named all of the squads after local (cock) deathmetal bands, which was very easy as there were far too many of them playing at the bar i worked at on any given week.

The army consisted of:

This is the Chaos lord armed with power weapon and additional hand weapon, made from the body of Kahrandra the Shadow hunter and suitably Chaosified. Helmet is from some old model i found, probably not GW. Daemon sword is from Abaddon. He was my substitute lord when i was not using the great it daemon prince.

The Chaos Sorceror armed with Power weapon and Bolt pistol. very useful with Doombolt

Champion with banner and power glove. He can be added to a squad as a character, used as a seperate Hq or made the banner bearer of a retinue.

Chaos Terminators armed with combi bolter * 3, autocannon * 1, Chain fist * 1, Power weapon * 2 and lightning claw *1

6 Chaos veterans armed with a variety of close combat weapons and also 2 Melta Guns.They were made from Dark Angel Veteran models and sport a selection fo the metal chaos shoulder pads and a couple of Dark Angel ones for a laugh. These guys can be used as either Elites or Troops choices.

Aspiring Champion for the Veteran squad, armed with 2 bolt pistols, with a massive power sword on his back (made from the Chaos warrior scabbarded sword), The model is based on the Cypher model and has two metal Chaos shoulder pads and some Dark Eldar Spikes for spiky bits. These guys can be used as either Elites or Troops choices.

Another Veteran squad made up of Dark Angel Veteran models, these 4 guys are armed with bolt pistol CCW, and two of them have plasma pistols. Again a combo of the Metal chaos shoulder pads and Dark Angel ones have been used.

Aspiring Champion for the Veteran squad, Model i based on the Azrael model and has the power axe from the Chaos Space Marine lord model.

7Chaos Space Marines, armed with bolters, a las cannon and a plasma gun. Made from a mix of plastic and metal figures with a couple of minor conversions.

Aspiring champion for the above squad, armed with a bolt gun and a Halberd (which can be used as a power weapon). Made from a Legion of the Damned Veteran Seageant.

5 Chaos marines armed with bolters, a plasma gun andlas-cannon (the lascannon is from the land raider). Made from various metal models, inlcuding a raptor.


4 Chaos marines armed with bolters, a plasma gun and autocannon (made from the original chaos autocannon). The models are a mix of plastic pieces from the berserker plastics and the marine plastics.

8 Chaos Space MArines armed with Close combat weapons and one with a flamer. They are made from chaos warrior torsos and legs, with chaos marine/bersrker/ chaos warrior arms, with a mix of metal and plastic chaos shoulder pads. they all have heads from the warhammer skaven set.

Th aspiring champion armed with chainace and power weapon. He was made from the chaos space marine lord model with mephistons sword and the head from the command pack from the warhamer skaven.

The squads rhino, with heaps of bits from the chaos spikes sprue and the chaos symbol from the warhammer chaos sprue.

4 raptors armed with close combat weapon/bolt psitol* 1, plasma pistol and ccw * 2 and melta gun * 1. 2 of them have metal warhammer chaos arms.

Raptor aspirng champion, armed with bolt pistol and power sword. He was made from the Blood Angel model Dante. I carved off his iron halo, chest eagle and blood angel symbols and sculpted hair on to him, but for some reason let him keep the illegal melta pistol..
